Description
Summary:Adaptive structuration theory is offered as a theoretical foundation for research on group decision support systems. Building on the theories of structuration advanced by several European social theorists, the theory of adaptive structuration attempts to explain how technology affects group and organizational processes and resultant outcomes. Rather than viewing technology as a direct, causal influence on human behavior, this theory holds that it is the active use of technology by people which determines observable outcomes.< >
