Summary: | In this study two sets of derived VECG lead systems based on 12-lead ECG were constructed employing an accurate thorax model. A derived Frank VECG lead system was optimized. Another derived VECG lead system was optimized to produce optimal orthogonal measurement. The model and an ECG data set was employed to compare the developed leads and those presented in the literature. The model results indicate that the authors' optimal VECG lead provide better orthogonality than the Frank system. The authors' optimized coefficient matrix reproduced Frank VECG leads more accurately than the previously published coefficients. The clinical results based on ST segment analysis of the 12-lead ECG were consistent with the model studies. The model and clinical data indicated that the X and Y leads of the Frank VECG lead system have marked cross coupling. |
