Description
Summary:In this paper, have been studied the corona sounds in an electrostatic discharge system (EDS) with pins to plane geometry in normal atmospheric pressure and temperature. For different gap distances between electrodes (2 to 5 cm), different d.c. voltage polarity (positive and negative), a.c. voltage and voltage supply (up to 10 kV) the corona sounds were analyzed. For the same operation conditions of EDS, the sound spectrum indicate high values under 250 Hz and 5, 11, 12, 13.5 and 19.5 kHz. Positive, negative and alternative corona have a lot of noise. The sound spectrum shows a fundamental and a number of harmonics superimpose on white noise.
