Field-modulated packet forwarding chips for label-switched optical routing

We demonstrate a single-chip 40 Gb/s wavelength converter based on an SG-DBR laser and field-modulated optical gate. This device also performs 10 Gb/s label encoding for all-optical packet forwarding.
