Summary: | We present the preliminary design of a six-cavity, broadband, high-power double-beam klystron, operating in K A - band and paced with permanent magnet focusing system. This klystron uses a 2 A, 12 kV double-cathode electron gun. Electron beams in the gun are accompanied by magnet field which is close to axially symmetrical for each channel axis. The circuit is comprised of six prismatic cavities operating in H 102 mode. There are five single-gap cavities and two-gap filter-loaded output cavity. The main predicted characteristics of the klystron includes a 1 dB bandwidth of 1.5 %, peak power more 8 kW, average power more 500 W and gain more 40 dB. |
