Optical channel monitoring technique using coded identification with alternated pilot tone and idle space

We have proposed and demonstrated a simple and cost-effective technique using a coded identification signal with alternated pilot tone and idle space for monitoring wavelength, power and source node of optical channels for WDM networks.
