Hybrid electro-optical feedback gain-stabilized EDFAs for long-reach wavelength-multiplexed passive optical networks
A novel EDFA gain stabilization technique is given for low-noise WDM upstream amplification in long-reach, high-split passive optical networks. Hybrid opto-electrical feedback avoids drawbacks from known optical feedback or pump-laser steering methods in access networks.
