Description
Summary:In this paper, we investigate the performance of interleave division multiple access (IDMA) scheme with independent component analysis (ICA) as receiver structure. Receivers for mitigating multi-access interference (MAI) usually require channel state information (CSI). The estimation of CSI will often have some measurement errors, which degrade the accuracy of symbol detection. Using blind methods, this overhead can be eliminated. More over, an ICA block can be combined with conventional receiver structure in such a manner that they both complement each other. We will show that the IDMA-ICA scheme can support a very large number of users and it offers an efficient alternative to systems with block channel estimation. IDMA is currently discussed as a candidate for upcoming 4G mobile communication systems.
