Pulse contrast enhancement by use of nonlinear polarization rotation in single-mode fibers

An all-fiber optical pulse cleaner operating at 1053 nm is demonstrated based on nonlinear polarization rotation. The pulse contrast can be enhanced by more than four orders of magnitude.
