Summary: | A sensitive demodulator for time-hopping ultra bandwidth (TH-UWB) radio frequency (RF) receiver is reported. The demodulator consists of a sensitive envelope detector, a voltage comparer, some signal amplifiers and a pulse shaper. The designs of the demodulator's circuit and layout are with 90-nm CMOS technology. The simulation results show that the demodulator can demodulate correctly the TH-UWB signals with a center frequency of 4 GHz and a bandwidth of more than 500 MHz, and an input voltage sensitivity of 3 mV. The whole system consumes 8 mW from a 1.2 V supply. |
