Summary: | Adsorption of heavy metals ion by microorganisms is emergying technology to treat wastewater. In this study, the cadmium-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa E 1 was investigated in absorption of cadmium ion from solution. The effects of polluted solution initial pH, biosorption time, and cadmium ion concentration and biosorbent amount on biosorption efficiency were investigated. The cadmium removal percent was used to reflect the efficiency of biosorption. From the views of production and application, the biosorption conditions were discussed. Moreover, the absorbent after absorption was analysized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The result suggested that the biosorption of cadmium involves C=O, C-O, O-H, C-N, N-H groups and phosphate functional groups. |
