Summary: | In wireless sensor networks that consist of a large number of low-power, short-lived, unreliable sensors, one of the main design challenges is to obtain long system lifetime, as well as maintain sufficient sensing coverage and reliability. A critical issue in wireless sensor networks is represented by the limited availability of energy within network nodes; therefore making good uses of energy is must. In this paper, we propose to design an algorithm for finding out those nodes who are the neighbors of that node which is going to turn off for preserving battery power and take the responsibility of the sensing area on behalf of the turning node so that power consumption as well as preservation will be balanced. |
