Summary: | Universally composable security (UC-style security) is needed in the context of RFID applications. The state-of-the-art security model are defined in the Canetti's universally composable model which is formalized in the context of full environments paradigm. This paper provides an environment reference set paradigm for security protocols of RFID systems. The environment reference set framework in essence, is a security model for securing RFID systems where the security of protocols is defined over an environment reference set. We show that if the environment reference set is empty, our model is weaken to the Herzberg and Yoffe's model; if the environment reference set is the whole set, then our model can be strengthened to Canetti's model. We show that the security composability maintains in the environment reference set model. As a result, we are able to provide a flexible security model for RFID systems. |
