Summary: | A model is developed for performance analysis of a microcellular digital mobile radio system using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique. The desired signal is subject to (fast) frequency selective Rician fading with (slow) log-normal shadowing and the co-channel interfering signals are subject to (fast) frequency selective Rayleigh fading superimposed over uncorrelated (slow) log-normal shadowing. The performance is measured in terms of bit error probability and spectrum efficiency. The influence of reuse distance, i.e., cluster size, traffic intensity, Rician parameter, log-normal spread and turning point of the dual path loss characteristic of microcells on system performance has been investigated in detail. |
