Study of genetic diversity of Dashtiari and Khazak breeds using microsatellite markers
The genetic variability of three native chicken populations (Dashtiari, Khazak and mixture) derived from Sistan and Baluchistan province in Iran was evaluated with 10 microsatellites markers (Mcw5, Mcw16, Mcw18, Mcw34, Mcw39, ADL225, ADL262, ADL185, ADL136, ADL210). The expected heterozygosity varie...

Summary: | The genetic variability of three native chicken populations (Dashtiari, Khazak and mixture) derived from Sistan and Baluchistan province in Iran was evaluated with 10 microsatellites markers (Mcw5, Mcw16, Mcw18, Mcw34, Mcw39, ADL225, ADL262, ADL185, ADL136, ADL210). The expected heterozygosity varied from 0/8881(ADL225) to 0/6919 (Mcw5).The highest PIC were in ADL225 and ADL136 at two breeds. The results of the heterozygosity were consistent with polymorphism information content (PIC). The results of this study suggested that microsatellites DNA markers are usefulness tools for studying the genetic relationships chicken breeds. |
