Summary: | Several shaped reflector antennas have been successfully designed, built and launched into orbit. A vast majority of these satellite antennas are usually of single offset reflector configuration: a single reflector for circular polarization or a dual-gridded reflector (with orthogonally polarized gridded surfaces sharing the same aperture) for linear polarization. In some applications two antennas located on opposite sides of the spacecraft, produce essentially the same shaped beam patterns. There is usually an 'equality' requirement between the radiation patterns produced by the two offset reflector antennas. This 'equality' requirement specifies the maximum difference between the two radiation patterns over the region of interest. This paper discusses a technique for effectively achieving the equalized radiation pattern between the two offset shaped reflector antennas. |
