Description
Summary:The geochemistry is key mineral information to identify mineral potential targets. Exploration geochemistry continues to be a major contributor to mineral exploration programs at scales ranging from regional reconnaissance down to mining leases. In this paper, a combination of geographic information system (GIS) technology and fractal method is applied to map the mineral potential in the case study area, western Damingshan region in Guangxi, the latter can make the best use of the visualization, spatial analysis, and management function of GIS to derive the anomaly information of exploration geochemistry associated with mineral deposits. The effective anomaly targets can be validated by GIS platform combined geological, geochemical, and digital elevation modeling (DEM) data, and the research results show that the combined technology is effective to map the mineral potential targets in study area.
