Summary:This paper describes some opportunities and prerequisites for the use of computers in education. To render electronic information systems useful, a high degree of integration has to be achieved. Hypermedia systems can serve as a basic integration platform for learning resources. However, for the day-to-day use of these systems a range of tools need to be developed for creating content, maintaining and navigating within the system.
