Summary: | Owing to the increasing number and power rating of static power converter (SPC) based systems the need arises for distributed power generation systems to take part in the control-related issues of power generation. The requirements for large and small power generation systems differ from the aspect of utility interaction. Measures to avoid and compensate the appearance of, and to reduce the possibility of unwanted, avalanche-like spreading, stability increasing behavioral states of the utility are added to the already existing requisition of having as little impact on utility operation as possible. Two different control approaches are introduced, compared and evaluated with respect of utility interaction requirements. |
