Summary: | Laser-induced field emission from a single metal tip became the subject of intense research in recent years. Ultrafast electron pulses can be generated by the irradiation single metal tips with nanoscale apex by femtosecond laser pulses [1, 2]. This opens up possibilities for developing novel compact and coherent radiation sources in THz and X-ray wavelengths. For these applications that require high bunch charge, field emitter array are advantageous. |
