Summary:Lean is a process of continuous improvement of products or services with the purpose of achieving superior quality, timely delivery and competitive cost leading to customer satisfaction. In today's aviation business, continuous customer satisfaction is all that matters as it is the determining factor of business viability and the Lean philosophy if properly followed guarantees continuous customers' satisfaction which in turn ensures business viability. Airports are a complex organizations whose areas of comparative advantages and efficiency hinges on elements that the airport management is more likely to control and applying the Lean management philosophy in such areas will surely result to optimization of resources, efficiency in performance and gradual but continuous reduction of all forms of waste. This research would look into the application and possible implementation of lean in the aviation sector with specific consideration of the King Khalid International Airport and comparative look in at European and other Asian Airports.
