Description
Summary:In mobile medical service, medical resources are distributed from their auxiliary hospitals to operation sites. Auxiliary hospitals are within the same province as operation sites. The key decision point is which hospitals should be selected as the auxiliary hospitals supporting medical resources to each operation site. There are multiple types of medical resources required to complete the operations of mobile medical service. As a result, it leads to the difficulty in making decision of planning officers. This paper aims to propose the methodology of assigning auxiliary hospitals to each operation site according to the operation schedule of mobile medical service. Sequential assignment method is applied to help in decision making of planning officers to select the appropriate auxiliary hospitals to minimize total distances from all auxiliary hospitals to all operation sites in the focused planning paradigm. Optimal solution is not acquired by the proposed methodology; however, the feasible solution is gained and is sufficient in quality for mobile medical service operation planning within reasonable computational time.
