Description
Summary:Mobile phones become an alternative to personal computers in the way various functionalities are performed. A number of applications are available for mobile devices. However, they have a major drawback of limited resources. Consequently, applications with complex logics and consuming a large of resources could not be deployed on the devices. Service-based mobile applications (SMAs) solve the limitation by subscribing cloud services. Since SMAs have complex structures than standalone applications, it is challenging to develop high quality SMAs, to manage both services and mobile applications, and to implement automated billing for subscribed services. Therefore, there is a great demand for a platform for super mobile computing, which supports all key activities in service-based mobile application. In this paper, we present technical aspects of such a platform which is under development; Super Mobile Autonomous Reliable plaTform (SMART). We first define design criteria and specify key functionality the platform. Then, we present key techniques utilized in building SMART. Current implementation of SMART is presented.
