description | Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system that stores, analyzes and handles any spatially referenced data. Recently, GIS has got a lot of attention from both research and industry communities. It is a fast growing technology in the world. Similarly, Web services also play major role in the software industry where web services are the pieces of software components, which are distributed over the Internet using some standard protocols. GIS web services are internet applications that use data and related functionality to perform basic geoprocessing tasks. These services can be connected with their clients and can communicate with other web services by using XML based messages through the Internet. A composite service is defined as a set of web services working together to offer a value-added service. In this paper, we are proposing an algorithm for the integration of emergency web services and the same is applied in the GIS-based emergency response system. we apply the quality criteria with different weights of preference. The final result is shown on the map with the various services composed for the given user request Also, the result in the form of text can be displayed along the map and the corresponding user request is forwarded and made available to the authorities to take appropriate emergency steps. |
