Summary:With the changes of diseases and insect pests and the development of new techniques, the old management mode of PWN has not satisfied the current demands. In this paper, we discussed the development and application of MIS in managing tobacco diseases and insect pests. Java programming language and B/S structure have been adopted to develop the MIS for managing the information of tobacco diseases and insect pests, that included the basic information management module, the online data management module, the warning information management module, meteorological information management module, nature disaster management module and web-GIS management module. Lastly, using the MIS, we realized the dynamic management in station setting, members and investigated data.
