Description
Summary:To identify the risk factors and prognosis of atrial fibrillation complicated with esophagectomy, 192 cases of esophageal carcinoma who got the esophagectomy done in our department were retrospectively analyzed. According to the onset of atrial fibrillation after the operation all cases were divided into two groups. 24 cases had the atrial fibrillation after operation which the morbidity was 12.5%. By using the statistic methods of Chi-square test and odds ratio analysis, the data were statistically analyzed. The following risk factors for atrial fibrillation were identified: age, pre-operation abnormal electrocardiogram and hypertension. Operation methods and anastomosis site were not risk factors. The onset of atrial fibrillation evidently increased the happening possibility of the anastomotic leakage, but not increased the operation death.
