Description
Summary:Nowadays, the spectral optic methods for discovering and studying mineral oils in the water are widely applied to and their principle advantage towards other methods is their express-diagnostics and remote sounding. The express-diagnostics implies the rapid discovery of water pollution using optic methods in order to eliminate and liquidate pollution sources on time (tankers, terminals etc). The difference is even between optic methods. One of them is the method of laser fluorescence. There are lots of organic compounds in the nature exposing special characteristics after optical excitation, they start radiating - fluorescence. These organic compounds are divided into four classes, they are: 1) photosynthetic substances - phytoplanktons; 2) amino acids; 3) humus substances of water; 4) oil and mineral oils. So, it's doubtless that there are soluble organic fluorescent substances in water media. Their signal of fluorescence creates a background on the signal of oil fluorescence and hampers the progress of oil discoveries. The fluorescence spectrums are created simultaneously and they represent the spectrums of signals created from both, oil and organic compounds. There are different ways of separating these spectrums, but none of them is absolute. That is why, it is necessary to study and investigate the spectrums of fluorescence of organic compounds besides oil and mineral oils. It is comparatively simple to discover solid elements floating into the water and to define their concentration.
