Summary: | A Half-Bridge converter with Current Ripple Reduction (HB-CRR) is proposed in this paper. In addition to having built-in voltage clamping function, the proposed converter can absorb and recover the leakage energy without adding snubber circuit and low voltage-rating MOSFET can be used. Consequently, converter efficiency can be improved. Moreover, input current ripple can be significantly reduced with minimum component count. These characteristics make it suitable for high frequency, high efficiency, and high power density applications. To demonstrate its feasibility, hardware implementation with 360-440V input, 12V/20A output, and operated at 100 kHz switching frequency is built and tested. |
