Description
Summary:Multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), cooperative communication and three-dimensional (3-D) video coding are state-of-the-art techniques. The combination between cooperative and MIMO systems is crucial to provide high data rates with high quality of 3-D video services. By taking their advantages, this paper presents 3-D video transmission over cooperative MIMO-OFDM systems. Unequal error protection schemes are proposed to protect the 3-D video signal with different important levels. This is achieved by partitioning the compressed 3-D video sequences based on packets partitioning or sending the 3-D video signal with different levels of protection. A concatenating form of the rate-variable low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes and MIMO system based on diversity space-time block code (STBC) is employed, where the sum-product algorithm (SPA) is utilized for LDPC. For channel adaptation, a switching operation between UEP schemes is proposed to achieve a trade-off between performance of the 3-D video system and changes in the wireless channel. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed schemes.
