Reduced complexity MLSD algorithms for multi-track magnetic recording systems

We propose and evaluate the performance of various reduced complexity maximum likelihood sequence detection schemes for multi-track magnetic recording systems. Our analysis show that almost equal performance to the Viterbi algorithm can be attained with much less complexity.
