Summary: | A robust nonlinear estimator, the matched myriad filter, (MMyF) is demonstrated for impulsive noise environments characterized by symmetric /spl alpha/-stable (S/spl alpha/S) noise. The MMyF can be efficiently "tuned" to adapt to changing values of the impulsiveness and the dispersion of the noise. Adaptive receiver techniques are presented for optimally and continuously estimating these parameters. |
