Summary:The aim of this paper is to find out if mobile technology can be used to enhance a veterinarian's work during house calls. The main focus is toward Equine medicine veterinarians. The results obtained from this research, which were conducted with Finnish veterinarians, are also transferable, to some degree, to other countries. We will find out what the current situation during house calls for veterinarians. We need to understand their daily routines and bottlenecks, how they regard new technology and how they currently use Information Systems (IS) and mobile technology. With this information we can then develop working IS and mobile solutions that will enhance the veterinarians work during house calls and at the same time improve the veterinarian's customer service.
