Summary: | Flywheel Energy Storage System (FESS) has been used for damping power system low-frequency oscillations by compensating for the imbalance power by affixation stabilizer, which has an independent active and reactive power controller. Because of the robustness problem of FESS-based stabilizer designed at one of the typical operation, it is proposed to design a robust FESS-based stabilizer by taking into account both multiple operations and damping torque analysis. All of the analytical conclusions have been confirmed by the results of eigenvalue analysis and non-linear simulation by an example of four-machine power system. |
