Summary:To increase education quality in rural areas, many researcher in Indonesia proposed Digital Learning as an alternative solution. Digital learning is constructed by utilizing information and communication technology (ICT) benefitting ICT main characteristics as a low cost, easy and quick deployment, and ease of operation and maintenance by using streaming video technology on Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). Video streaming technology used WiFi or IEEE 802.11, specifically 802.11e MAC that supports Quality of Service (QoS). Several Digital Learning infrastructure built in Indonesia rural areas main problem is channel contention which caused a low throughput and affected the quality of video streaming. QoS provide a way to improve video streaming quality. QoS method for IEEE 802.11e is explained. Several studies proved video streaming quality can be improved using existing parameter in IEEE 802.11e. Model to implement and measure using existing parameter in IEEE 802.11e to improve video streaming quality for Digital Learning in Indonesia rural area is proposed in this paper.
