Description
Summary:Link performance prediction is widely used in system level simulations. For CDMA, link prediction formulas have been reported, however, in contrast to OFDM, the verification step has not been well documented. The goal of this paper is, therefore, to perform the verification step of the link performance prediction model for the CDMA radio interface. The analysis was performed by simulating the physical layer TX and RX chain in the context of the WCDMA HSDPA standard. Based on comprehensive simulation results, the correctness of the CDMA link prediction model is confirmed for single stream as well as MIMO transmission with the rake and LMMSE receivers. Thus, analytical abstraction of the physical layer can be employed with confidence at system level simulation.
