Description
Summary:The absorption co-efficient of symmetric conical shaped InAs/InGaAs quantum dots-in-a-well (DWELL) infrared photo-detector has been calculated through Non-Equilibrium Green's Function (NEGF) approach to explain their relative magnitude resulting from various quantum dot dimensions. Kinetic equation of Green's function is solved by using method of finite difference and wave-function is calculated from greens function and source term. All possible transitions from bound level of quantum dot to any higher continuum level existing in either quantum well or barrier are taken into account. Trace of peak of absorption co-efficient with gradual change of height to base ratio of quantum dot is simulated under various polarization of incident light.
