Description
Summary:Sustaining good quality of service, in mobile systems, is indeed a direct result of the efficient pre - planning process. Accurate path loss prediction and estimation is one important step toward best deployment of such systems. Recently Terrain roughness parameters are considered essential factors in realizing reliable path loss estimation. In this work, the slope (S) of the route undergone by the receiver is integrated with Hata urban path loss relation to estimate for the excess loss measured in high rough terrain regions in Jordan. The study is conducted in suburban micro - cell areas in Amman city and Madaba city for the 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands. Results showed that as compared to Hata prediction method, less RMSE of up to 17 dB is achieved. This obtained result intensifies the significance of terrain roughness parameters in obtaining more accurate path loss prediction.
