Description
Summary:A dual-feed dual excitation mode cylindrical crossed-slot antenna on a cylindrical surface is presented. By switching between like and difference mode excitations, the entire space is spanned by the radiation patterns. The time domain integral equation for the antenna is derived and solved by the method of moments. The technique is able to analyze the antenna characteristics over a wide frequency band. By using a dual-feed and a dual excitation mode configuration, a wide bandwidth and a large space coverage is realized. This antenna is useful for telemetry purposes, tracking applications and mobile communication systems where good space coverage with minimum fluctuation in antenna pattern are in demand. Theoretical data are in good agreement with experimental results.
