Summary: | This paper explores the effect of compressive sensing on channel rate in a massive-MIMO environment. We are interested to know to what extend a channel state information could be compressed and what factors are needed to be considered. For this purpose we assume a base-station with N antennas operating in downlink with K single-antenna users. The sum of rate is calculated and simulated with both original and compressed channel response information. Simulation results show that the total channel rate decreases as the the compression ratio increases. According to simulation results for SNR = 10dB and compression ratio = 0.3, the rate loss is about 5 bps. |
