Summary:This paper discuss the significance of the remote laboratory as an example of an effective E-learning tool intended for distance education of undergraduate, graduate and PhD students in the field of robotics and automation. Also it offers employees working in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) a tool for life-long learning. As a basis for a roundtable discussion, a complete system offering remote laboratory for robotics and automation, based on robotic vision is suggested. The roundtable aims to discuss both the hardware configuration as well as the pedagogical aspects related to the use of this remote laboratory.
