Description
Summary:This presentation introduces a self-contained adaptive antenna tuner for use in mobile phone applications. It allows efficient operation over a wide frequency range with high Q antennas (i.e., antennas for which the impedance changes significantly with frequency). It also adaptively mitigates of the effects of user interaction by measuring the antenna performance and implementing a closed-loop control algorithm that improves the match between the antenna and the PA/LNA. This is achieved using an onboard microcontroller, such that only DC and synchronization inputs are required from the host device.
