Description
Summary:In this work, we describe the modeling and experimental verification of parameters (voltage, frequency and cell suspension medium) for successful implementation of a positive dielectrophoresis (pDEP) technique that can be used to attract cells to multielectrode array (MEA) electrode sites. We also discuss the comparison of different designs for mechanical confinement microstructures that can be used to successfully lead neurites in-between the electrodes. We fabricated multielectrode arrays based on this principle and demonstrated the usefulness of this technique for active recruitment of neurons on electrodes.
