Description
Summary:We present the design, fabrication, simulation and characterization of a novel optrode array for light delivery and neural recording on animal optogenetic experiment in vivo. With the help of a MT connector, the optrode was arranged into 1×6 linear array and can be firmly and simply connected to optical source. The optrode was fabricated from a fiber. Fiber tip is tapered by wet etching. Au/Cr film is deposited, insulated by parylene and exposed at the tip by RIE to integrate electrical recording sites on one side of the fiber. The typical impedance at 1 KHz and output power of the optrode is 80KΩ and 13mw when evaluated in vitro. Acute animal implant experiment shows the optrode can work well in ChR2 transgenic mice.
