description When a large number of sensor nodes are transmitting data at the same time, there is a possibility of congestion in a network. Aiming at the problem of packet loss because of sensor network congestion, a novel algorithm for congestion avoidance and control, fuzzy active queue management (FAQM), is proposed. The Random Exponential Marking probability of packets and their priority weights are considered in the algorithm to establish a fuzzy logic inference system, regulating the sensor network packets intelligently by the reference result. The simulation experiments show that FAQM can avoid and control the congestion, reduce the dropping rate of high priority packets and stabilize the node's queue length so as to enhance the link utilization ratio and improve the whole network QOS performance.
