description This paper reviews state-of-the-art loss-minimizing control strategies for synchronous reluctance motors. For SCs, different search algorithms are presented and compared. The SCs are evaluated based on their convergence speed, parameter sensitivity, accuracy, and the torque ripple caused by the search process.
