description Train control system controls the headway and train route to prevent collisions and derailment of train on the basis of the train location. Radio communication based train control system can enhance the headway and safety of train in the manner of using radio communications instead of the wayside equipment such as the track circuit installed in the track. Radio communication based train control system uses the standard of IEEE 802.11 which uses an unlicensed frequency band because there is no dedicated frequency for railways. Since there is the risk where the frequency interference and other interference problems can be occurred because the unlicensed band might be used by various wireless devices, we analyzed wireless environments of Daebul Line which was selected as the test section, and in this paper, we measured the performance of radio communication device to be applied to the radio communication network and selected a optimized location which has no shaded area.
