Description
Summary:Practical performance analysis of a 2×2 Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system is performed with various receiver structures. In addition, performance of energy detection based spectrum sensing is also evaluated using Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) based test-bed. Live Video is transmitted over MIMO-OFDM test bed. Zero Forcing - Vertical Bell Laboratories Layered Space-time (ZF-VBLAST) MIMO architecture is used at the receiver side. A comparison is made between bandwidth, spectrum utilization and data-rates for a Single Input Single Output (SISO) system and 2×2 MIMO system. Effect of using Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying (GMSK) and OFDM is also analyzed. Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of a 2×2 MIMO system using Zero Forcing (ZF) detection is compared with 2×2 MIMO system using ZF-VBLAST architecture. Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) curve for the energy detection based spectrum sensing is used to decide threshold for the detection of licensed user.
