Description
Summary:The advent of new, faster scintillation materials with high intrinsic spectral resolution requires new acquisition systems with higher throughput, minimal spectral distortion, excellent pulse height resolution and optimal pile-up rejection. The pulse height analyzer (PHA) converts the analog detector pulse into a digital signal that can be stored in a pulse height histogram. A new PHA system is used in conjunction with a LaBr detector and a high performance d-T neutron generator at instantaneous count rates exceeding 2 MHz at temperatures as high as 175°C in downhole oil well logging.
