A unified approach to design of optical fibers with prescribed dispersion characteristics

A unified formulation for the design of optical fibers with specified dispersion characteristics is presented. Design examples for dispersion-shifted, dispersion-flattened, and dispersion compensating fibers based on triple-clad geometries are given.
