Description
Summary:Considering the characteristics of the underwater communication channel, we proposed a channel reserved MAC(Media Access Control) protocol for centralized underwater sensor network. This protocol reduces the collision rate of member nodes by using the short control packet for channel reservation and increases the channel efficiency by optimizing the reserved channel. Also, it saves the power by using a sleep-mode. The proposed protocol is composed of two phases. One is the initialization phase in which member nodes can reserve the channel to transmit the data. The other is the data transmission phase in which selected nodes can transmit their data up to K times on reserved channel. In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between collision rate and T 0 . And we optimized the protocol parameter, K to improve the performance.
